Information systems and enterprise architecture
To get transformed, gain value and agility, every enterprise has got to understand and modelize itself. Perspectives revealing only the exposed part of things, John Zachman developed, in 1987, a model that broaches all aspects of Enterprise. In doing so, he invented a new discipline: the enterprise architecture.
However, inception of an entire enterprise modeling can be interpreted as trying to found the Borges library in its entirety. The subject is less on the exhaustiveness of the modeling than on the insistence of a comprehensive approach which must not disregard any structuring point. Warren Bennis sheds light on future dimensions to explore: "the problem facing allmost all leaders in the future will be to develop their organization's social architecture so that it generates goodwill".
In the preface of a publication about IT-BU realtions, the CIGREF states: "the tense economic situation thus compels the enterprise, subject to strong pressure on costs, to reconsider itself. Maturity of IT-BU relations is one of the fundamental elements to create value, increase efficiency and upgrade enterprise resource. Therefore, Functions and IT must be associated to set new models of organization and governance and to enhance the results of this synergy.".
Purely technical approaches have clearly become too reductive for modern enterprise. Would you hire an architect who does not want to hear about who you are, how you live and what you aspire for, to build your house?
Agilecom conducts architectural studies on information systems, software or infrastructure.
Our approach is global (it considers all facets of the enterprise) and adjusted (it takes into account the expectations but also the ability of the enterprise). For us, the right solution is the controllable one.
